Wildfire Community Preparedness Day, which is co-sponsored by the National Fire Protection Association® (NFPA®) and State Farm®, is Saturday, May 3, 2025. Each year, Preparedness Day actively encourages groups and individuals living in wildfire-prone areas to complete projects that can help make their homes and communities safer from wildfire.

For this year’s Preparedness Day campaign, NFPA is highlighting the value and impact that preparing the first five feet immediately around the perimeter of the home – known as the immediate zone, or “Zone Zero” – can have on reducing the risk of home ignition. With this focus in mind, NFPA is encouraging participants to take on projects that address Zone Zero.
